NBD 5K Run for Life - April 19, 2008, Owens Memorial Park - NJ
Come out for some family fun and support a great cause. SIDS is the number one cause of![]()
death in infants between one month and one year of age. It is sudden and unexpected and even after an autopsy no cause of death is found. In a typical situation, parents go to check on their infant they think is sleeping only to find their baby dead. This is the worst tragedy parents can face, a tragedy which leaves them with a sadness and a feeling of vulnerability that lasts throughout their lives.
Proceeds for this event will go to The American SIDS Institute, which is dedicated to the prevention of sudden infant death syndrome and the promotion of infant health through research, education and family support.
You can also help Joanne & Emmitt finish the race!
Personal note from Joanne & Emmitt:
“My brother Fred and his wife Rose, lost their granddaughter to SIDS, sudden infant death syndrome. They have decided to have a run/walk to raise money benefiting SIDS. Please help us raise money for NBD 5K Run for Life Benifiting SIDS, use the above link to donate. The website is secure, fast and easy to use. At the website you will be able to choose an amount to donate and receive email confirmation of your donation. Thanks in advance for your help.
Thank-you,
Joanne & Emmitt Herron

ROCK ‘N’ ROLL FOR A CURE
I am training to run the Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon in San Diego, CA on June 1, 2008 as a member of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Team In Training. The goal of Team In Training is to increase funding to support the Society’s mission while promoting fitness and healthy life-styles. The mission of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society is to cure leukemia, lymphoma, myeloma and Hodgkin’s disease - and improve the lives of patients and their families.
I race because I believe finding a cure for blood cancers may lead to cures for other cancers. By putting money toward research, a cure will come some day for all cancers.
My family is my inspiration!! My dad is currently undergoing chemotherapy and my in-laws have also battled cancer. Team In Training is one thing I can do to help fight these diseases.
Most of us know someone who has battled cancer or is currently in the fight. This is an opportunity to do something about it!! I have made a personal pledge to raise $5,000. This is a hefty goal, but along with the training, I am ready for the challenge! Please make a donation to support my participation in Team In Training and get us to the ultimate finish line…a cure!
All donations are 100% tax deductible!

The M.O.R.E. Project
The M.O.R.E. Project* doesn’t give handouts we give hand-ups. Providing resources to a single mother so she can better provide for her family, giving structure and support to young men who grew up on the streets so they can be a positive male influence in their household, equipping children with an education that will empower them to chase their dreams these are the ways we are fighting poverty…not by doing things for people, but teaching them to do things for themselves.
The M.O.R.E. Project, affliated with MonaVie, Inc., seeks to provide impoverished people,
especially children, with the tools necessary to pull themselves out of poverty. The M.O.R.E. Project is a non-denominational organization that adheres to a philosophy of love and compassion in an effort to empower those that society has left behind. Please become an active member in this worthy cause by donating to The M.O.R.E. Project.
